After
a summer of meeting up at various locations in the Devon area. Several
clubs decided it was time for a few clubs to get together for a ride out
to Plymouth.
Sunday
5th Oct was arranged and the weather was on our side. It was arranged that
we all meet in the car park of The Woodpecker pub on the A38 between
Exeter and Plymouth. Us ( the Southern Templars) decided to ride up to
meet the other clubs. When we got there at 12pm, we were greeted by
several members of the Confederates (Exmouth), by 12.30pm the land lord
was getting annoyed and asked us to leave, so we all went in and bought a
drink to calm the situation down (or to piss him off which was the main
idea) leaving him with no option but to except our company!!!!
By
now we were joined by the newly reformed South Devon Showmen SC, a
quick natter and
we were on the road to Plymouth. Riding from the front looking back it
looked great, a mass of scoots 3/4 wide on the dual carriageway turning
many heads in passing cars. We all headed for the Barbican and a cafe
frequently used by local bikers, you could see they really appreciated us
turning up!!!! We then all rode to the famous Plymouth Hoe and had a few
pints at a local pub. After that we had a few snaps done for the occasion.
Just
a couple of thanks to all the clubs mentioned , Great day out, in all we
had over 50 odd scoots on the road.
There
is talk of setting up a Devon and Cornwall Alliance to promote all
the clubs in the area. Watch this space!!!!
